100 Garden & Floral Oil Paintings, Original Art Work from A Colorado Daily Painter, 12/100

MacAllister House Sidewalk and Blog Breakfast
8" x 10" oil on board
$195.00 + $10. s/h
SOLD

This is another piece from the day my plein air group painted at the MacAllister House Museum, 2 weeks ago.  I loved the way the daffodils and fence created a shadow on the sidewalk.

I continue to be amazed at the world of blogging and how small the blogosphere really is.  I have had three blog events this week:  A blog plug by Nancy Hartley, a blog interview by Ed Newman, and yesterday I had breakfast with Dana Cooper!  Dana was in Colorado Springs visiting her son who attends the Air Force Academy.  She had emailed me that she'd be in town and luckily our schedules worked!  We met for breakfast and before I knew it, the whole morning was gone, it was 12:15 and she had to leave!  We had a great visit.  If you are not familiar with her work and blog, check them out.  She's a great artist! And great person!

I love this piece Pam! The yellow of the flowers complimenting and complimented by the purple of the shadows is great!

Wow - love the shadows and how you arranged/composed this one. The blue violet shadows against white, all near the yellow complimentary flowers is dynamite!

I love love love this Pam! Perfect composition with the center point of interest on those amazing shadows. I would have liked to have painted the same scene but even now it intimidates me.

Dana, Thank you. You're right, we are united by our art. It is amazing to find a group of people with whom we have so much incommon...our art.

Thank you Sandra, The painting was right there in front of me. All I had to do was put it down on canvas!

Debbi, Thanks so much. The composition was there, right on the sidewalk. all I had to do was make the shadows violet.

Thank you so, so, so much Sheila! You wouldn't have been intimidated. It's sometimes just jumping right in!

Claire, Thanks. In this one the shadow is the star and the flowers are the supporting cast!

Thank you so much Linda. I added my own to the colors, but, the composition was there.

Nancy, As always, thank you so much for your support and thoughts.

Pam, what a beautiful painting. I love the composition and of the colors, the yellow of the flowers and the purple shadows. I feel as though I am repeating Dana Coopers words and yes that what I am doing. Outstanding painting.

What a fantastic and unusual composition! I think it's so hard to see this kind of thing...that you saw the shadow as somehow as 'tangible' as the actual flowers. How cool.

what a nice painting--shows your strong sense of design..and the complementary colors just sing.
I know what you mean about the blogosphere seeming "neighborly" somehow--it is a wonderful "community"

Sherrie, Thank yo so much. A favorite...that gets me thinking. What is a piece really pulls us in.

Thank you Janice, I should get in touch w/ you. My plein air group is going to Denver to the Iris Garden, you may want to meet us.

Amy, Thank you. I think of your paintings as fun, so coming from you, this is a true complement!

Thank you Linda, Those shadows were there! And, yes, it was really great to meet Dana.

Julie, Thank you so much! Sometimes the complements are right there in front of us!

Thank you so much Joan, Your thoughts mean a lot.

Karen, Thank you. It was a lucky moment. My group was out early, and those shadows wouldn't have been there much later. I'm now wondering if there will be different flowers there tis next month. Would make another piece.

Thank you Liz, I do paint a lot of florals, and I was drawn out to the sidewalk to look at the daffodils, But, the shadow shapes kept me out there!

Celeste, Thank you. I look forward to hearing vicariously to my bloggger. friends!
