100 Garden & Floral Oil Paintings, Original Artwork by Pam Holnback, 45/100

Corn on the Cob
6" x 8" oil on board
$100.00 + $10. s/h

These ears of corn are really fun.  If I wasn't doing a personal challenge, I might not have tried to paint them.
I had a question in my comments about the blue that I used for the recent blueberry paintings.  I mixed cobalt and ultramarine blues, grayed that mixture in varying amounts with cad red light, and added white.

Sweet Corn
6" x 8" oil on board
$100.00 + $10. s/h

Right now the sweet corn in Colorado is incredible!  Corn is one of my favorite vegetables.  We eat is as our main course and side dish.  There's almost nothing else on the plate!  There's no procrastinating this painting...I've got to paint it before we eat!

"Three's A Crowd"
6" x 6" oil on board
$100.00 + $10.00 s/h
This is another seasonal produce piece for our show in September.

Last summer I took a workshop at Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia.  They have now started a blog about their workshops, classes, shows, and studio events.  Each post is so filled with great information from the workshops and their teaching methods, it's like a little mini-lesson.  Check out their blog:  http://studioincamminati.blogspot.com/

Glen Eyrie Paint Out

Glen Eyrie Cliffs
11" x 14" oil on RayMar panel
$295.00 + $10. s/h

Yesterday I participated in a Paint Out at Glen Eyrie Castle here in Colorado Springs.  Glen Eyrie was built by William Palmer, the founder of Colorado Springs.  He created it to look like a castle (it has 22 rooms) so that his English wife would feel at home.  Sadly, her poor heart did not make living at 6,000 feet easy, so she spent most of her time on the east coast and in England.  It was built on 800 acres and sits next to what is now the Garden of the Gods.  Today, Glen Eyrie is a conference and retreat center and is no longer as accessible to the public as it once was. I was thrilled to have the chance to paint there and want to thank Gary Bradley for all of his organizational work.

The weather yesterday was warm and cloudy.  The rolling clouds caused constant light change.  So that I would not spend hours chasing the light, I put the light in first, which is the opposite of my usual landscape technique.  In this case it was the right way to go.  RayMar donated the panels for the event.  I love the texture on these boards.

A Great Way To Start The Day

5" x 7" oil on board
$100.00 + $10. s/h

I have to admit, I am enjoying the paintings that I'm getting from my early mornings this week!  I guess you can tell that we live on the west side of town and our deck faces east!  And, that we have some trees on either side of the yard that I take the liberty of moving around, changing, and/or eliminating to work with the sunrise colors.  I really loved how the sky was so peachy!

A Little Bit Later

5" x 7" oil on panel
$100.00 + $10. s/h
SOLD

I so enjoyed seeing the sunrise the other morning that I tried to get up early this morning, too.  But, I got up a "Litlle Bit Later" and the strong, bold colors of the sunrise had just passed, but these soft, slightly muted tones were out there.

Fleeting Moment

5" x 7" oil on panel
$100.00 + $10. s/h

I was up really early this morning, earlier than normal, and early enough to catch the tail end of sunrise.  So, I enjoyed my cup of coffee, and this view, from our deck.  Maybe I'll occasionally get up early again!

Single Scoop
6" x 6" oil on panel
$100.00 + $10. s/h

This cone flower was all by it's self, thus the title.  It's interesting how in just a few days, the pinks become so much softer and paler.

Rock Garden
8" x 8" oil on cradled panel
$195.00 + $10. s/h

We literally have hundreds of rocks sitting in the back yard under a tree waiting to be used in our garden.  This one caught my eye as it had so many colors as well as moss.
