This is the same spot as the last post, although in this one I left out all the Refuge visitors!
This area was historically an agricultural area and water is intensively managed on the Refuge. Irrigation includes numerous dikes and other water control structures that provide water to many divers wetland habitats ranging from shallow wet meadows to open water. The Refuge includes pumped wells, Artensian wells and irrigation canals some dating to the 1880's.
Here you can see some of the sandhill cranes having breakfast.

It's a wonderful landscape, Pam, and I like your personal interpretation!
Pam, wonderful depth and beautiful composition! Also love "In Flight" beautiful colors and brushwork!
Its really wonderful to see how you are evolving as a painter through these beautiful landscapes. Have you ever thought about putting them together as a book? Check out blurb.com
Beautiful spot, Pam! Very nicely done.

Wow, Pam, this is really wonderful, you nailed it.
Sylviane, Thank you. I think that w/ every painting we all add a little bit of ourselves.
Thank you Carol, I didn't change too much of the composition here. I was lucky that the photo spot was so great!
Natalie, Thank you. I know of blurb, in fact, I told you about it!
Thank you so much Julie!
Kimberly, Thanks. Yes, there were so many more cranes I could put 20 pictures just like this up and it wouldn't show all of them!
Thank you Jane. I think it's fun to share the locations.

Thank you Celeste. So appreciate your comments over the years.
Sherry, Thank you. While the colors of winter aren't as bold as those of summer, they have a warmth of their own.
