Some of the sun flowers in our back yard are big and start drooping when they get really tall. I understand the feeling! I feel like drooping from the heat we've had this summer.
Another sunflower from our back yard. I love how there's both warm and cool yellows. And I really like that with the sky in the background you get the feeling of how tall all of these have grown.
Orchard House Shadow
11" x 14" Oil
$245.00 + $10. s/h
I loved the shadow on the side of the Orchard House at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. I went back two mornings to get the same light and shadow. Rock Ledge Ranch is next to the Garden Of The Gods and is a living ranch with animals, gardens, historic buildings from several periods. I've been there many times and have painted their barn, sheep, flowers, pond, house.
This is my second piece from La Foret. This is the back gate into the Chapel garden.
At one point in the morning I was inside the chapel and had climbed up a tiny circular stairway into the choir loft. While up there I heard a motorcycle pull up. Soon, a man walked into the chapel in his motorcycle leathers, and sat down and started playing. You just never know what you're going to see when out for a morning of painting.
I painted this view of Pikes Peak one spring day when my plein air group, Garden Artists, was painting at the Garden Of The Gods Visitor Center. It sold today at the Little London Market. I love it when I get to meet the owner of a painting. This man used to live in Colorado Springs but has moved to Arizona.
I recently got a "Square". I've tried swiping credit cards and can't get it to work. I used it successfully today by typing in the credit card number. Any one out there using a Square and have any advise?
This painting of Pauline Chapel recently sold at Summerland Gardens.
Saturday July 14 is the 2nd Saturday of the month, therefore it's the Little London Market. Several members of my plein air group, Garden Artists, will be there with lots of great paintings. For those of you who live in Colorado Springs, hope to see you there! 109 S. Sierra Madre, CS, 80903 from 8:00 - 3:00.

Yesterday my plein air group, Garden Artists, painted at La Foret Conference Center in the Black Forest, just north of Colorado Springs. I loved the play of light and shadow on the walls.
This is one of the pieces that I have in a show at the Colorado Springs Airport. The show will hang July, August and September. Those of you who will be arriving or departing from the airport can see the show as it is in the concourse area by the gates.
