La Foret Chapel Back Gate

La Foret Chapel Back Gate
8" x 6"  Oil
$75.00 + $10. s/h

This is my second piece from La Foret.  This is the back gate into the Chapel garden.

At one point in the morning I was inside the chapel and had climbed up a tiny circular stairway into the choir loft.  While up there I heard a motorcycle pull up.  Soon, a man walked into the chapel in his motorcycle leathers, and sat down and started playing.  You just never know what you're going to see when out for a morning of painting.

Those blues in the shadows are fantastic, and the soft quality really helps make this a great painting.

Gorgeous dappling and a wonderful story with photo evidence. It must have been wonderful to just sit and listen to him play.

Thank you Shane. I often make my shadows warmer, more violet. But they were bluish and it seemed to work.

Celeste. Thank you. It's all about the light...and shadow.

Thanks so much Sherry. We asked him if he often played there. He said that he was just seeing how well it sounded. Maybe an upcoming wedding.

Not only a lovely painting but a good story to go along with it!
