Day 6 in the 30 in 30 Challenge
With so much of the country having cold weather ....18 degrees and 4 inches of snow here in Colorado Springs...I thought that I'd post some paintings from our garden this past summer. We always grow a huge patch of sunflowers in the middle of the yard. Actually, we don't plant the sunflowers anymore, they reseed themselves every year. They grow to over 10 feet and sit in a raised garden. This is so great! While sitting on our deck we can look right at them and enjoy their color as well as all of the birds that they attract.
This was our yard last July.

I've been following all your blogs and paintings, Pam. I think the 30 in 30 is a fantastic idea. My work schedule would not permit me 30 in 30, but maybe I'll try 5 in 5. Gotta start somewhere. It's funny that you mention your backyard last summer....cuz I got out some photos of my backyard also from last July. It must have something to do with the enormous contrast in temperature and weather that inspired us to do that. It is Monday night right now, and the artic blast is rolling in right this second....here in the Philly suburbs. Tomorrow with temps around 7 degrees I will be cozily inside working on a small still life. It's nice to know that someone else experiences similar challenges with painting. I'm sure you inspire many. I travel and paint with you vicariously
