This is the 4th painting I did in the recent PAAC, Plein Air Artists of Colorado, Marathon paint out. We painted these at the PEO pond in Cheyenne Canyon. I've painted many times at this pond, but always in July when the "lilies" were in full bloom. This was great to just concentrate on the light and shadow of the leaf and sky shapes. I'll be painting there again later this summer.

Hi again Pam,
I so appreciate all your blogging as well. It's nice to have a painting "buddy" that really stays on top of her painting the way you do and also the way you photograph and share your experiences. The Plein Air Painters of Colorado sounds like a wonderful group, as if you all inspire each other....as you inspire me.
You captured the reflection of the blue sky in the water well....it's very blue and not over done.....and that's from someone who never saw the real thing. Yes, I'll be doing landscapes this summer....yikes...I hardly know where to begin. Gotta start somewhere I remind myself. Happy painting Pam
LOVE your use of color!
The plum is the BEST!
Thank you Pattie, That is one thing that I prefer about blogging to FB...the writing more. And more comments, etc. And, you reminded me that I have forgotten to include photos of the locations of all of the places during the paint out. I must be getting old! The place to begin, is...just begin. Try to simplify your landscape down to 5 basic shapes.
Sue, Thank you so much. I did that plum over and over and hoped that I got it!!
