I had planned on painting another white hollyhock, but last night's torrential rain made them look so droopy and wilted. So, back to the pinks. The last pink one leaned a little toward magenta. I wanted this one to really be pink, so I used some Permanent Rose, which is not in my usual plein-aire palette, but which we used at Studio Incamminati. I think it was a good addition to my flower palette.

Another nice one - and the pinks are my real favorites, anyway! I love Rose, and always have it handy. I miss it when I'm plein air-ing, so I usually take it then, too! (Although in the recent heat you couldn't pay me to plein air!)

Lovely flower Pam! I love permanent rose to make so many colors. One plein air artist I know uses in lieu of cad red, because mixed with cad yellow, makes an almost cad red or cad orange really limiting the palette, but it obviously also makes very cool reds.

Hi Pam, this summer I've started using Perm. Rose instead of Aliz. Crimson Perm. on my palette....I think I'm hooked. It's pretty versatile! Beautiful paintings, btw! Thanks for visiting my blog!
