100 Garden & Floral Oil Paintings, Original Artwork by a Colorado Daily Painter, 35/100

Yellow Rake
8" x 8" oil on cradled board
$195.00 + $10. s/h

We're putting in another flower garden, or, should I say taking out more grass.  Either way, we've spent the last few days building a rock wall, moving all the compost from the other side of the yard, raking the compost, hauling dirt, and then raking the dirt.  I couldn't resist painting the rake!

Always intriqued by your wonderfully cropped subject matter. Making a garden rake appealing is a real challenge and you met it.

I always love when you make everyday workers the Star of the show! Love that snazzy yellow handle and the way you've painted the soil. Great crop too!

Linda, Thank you. I found for soil to just use light layer of several values w quick brushstrokes and it works.

Thank you Sherry!

I really like the composition and the simplified forms in this, Pam. That, and the strong yellow of the handle, which draws you right in. Very dynamic.
