Morning in Monte Vista

Morning in Monte Vista
11" x 14" Oil
$295.00 + $10. s/h

This is another landscape from our trip in March to the Monte Vista Crane Festival.  I painted it after the trip from a photo.  I love the late winter colors of the grasses.  I'm sure that now it would be beautiful greens.  The area is full of marshes, so there's not a problem with lack of rain and dry, ochre grasses that we often have.

This week in our front yard:

We left the garage door open, which we almost never do, and the deer came right in!  She just meandered away when I came out and looked at me as if I was bothering her!

How lovely to have wild life just come to visit in total freedom - and what a beautiful painting. Such incredible colours.

Gros bisous.

Such beautiful color - you are really blessed to go so many places and see such wonder! And so funny - the deer came checking your garage out!

Celeste, Thanks so much. She's a joy to see, but...The grasses had such great colors!

Thank you Liz. We have so much wildlife. We had a bear living in our back yard this spring. Often have skunks. Have had a raccoon in the chimney. See coyotes from our deck. And, while not in our yard, up the street mountain lions were born in a back yard!

Martine, Merci beaucoup! Les visiteurs ne me rendre heureux! C'est juste un peu frustrant qu'ils pensent de notre cour avant est un bar à salade!

Thank you Kelley. I agree, I am blessed to live in Colorado. I think that if I left the front door open, she would walk right in!

Sherry, Thank you! The grasses were a little grayer, but I like the blue-gray better.

Susan. Thanks. LOL!

Gorgeous landscape. Love the composition, the depth, mix if textures and of course the colors! A big winner. We have deer in our neighborhood too and I love it. We can't feed them as they are overpopulated and do cause a driving hazard. But I so enjoy living in a city but feeling nature all around me. The birds are especially happy and full of songs this time of year.

Thank you so much Marie! We have lots of great landscapes here. We see deer everyday, often up to sixteen. Our neighborhood is filled w. them.

Debbi, thank you! While they can be a nuisance, the deer are sweet to see. The birds lately have been incredible. I've been painting in the backyard daily and they are just singing away!

Thank you so much Gwen! This one is like our pet. When we're out front she just looks at us. But, is a little protective of the fawns.

Stephen, Thank you so much! I love it when I'm out somewhere and every spot around me could be an incredible painting!

Great palette for this painting - it's amazing how many colors there really are in just plain "grasses", isn't it?

The blue-gray & violets of the sage in front is excellent. This feels very familiar and right!

Beautiful landscape, the colors are great, especially like the bluish grays.
That deer must feel you have a very safe environment in your yard( and garage!)
