Lovely, Pam! I love hydrangeas and have three in my Texas yard. Unfortunately they are looking pretty weak with the heat and no rain. Hope they return in the spring! Your painting is a reminder of how beautiful they are!

A lovely flower,Pam, but yes, not happy everywhere. I had large plants when living elsewhere in South Africa, but they do not survive on the coast where I now live!

I like how you got the light popping through this hydrangea bunch. Super nice. I can tell you love purple-y blues too..:o)

Thank you Sherry!

Linda. Thanks. They need so much water. don't know how they'd survive in Teas this summer unless you really run the sprinkler all the time!

Thank you Marie. Hmm, I think of the coast as being humid. Thought they'd do well there.

Stephanie, Thank you. I had a pre-toned orange dry canvas and the color just popped through!

Not just difficult to grow, but I'd say difficult to PAINT!!!... You did a great job on these...

I love the different varieties you find all over nowadays. My Dad has some lacy ones.

Pam, I love the colors and the way you have infused the light of the day into the petals. This is absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks so much Marian. I didn't know that were different varieties, but it makes sense that there is, as there are many varieties of all other flowers!

Dayna, thank you! You should try painting them. Just lay down the darkest color loosely w/ a large brush. Then switch to a smaller brush and make lots of little marks.!!

Thanks so much Claire. The light underneath wasn't planned. I'd toned the canvas, but when I saw the peeks of light coming through, I made sure there was lots of it!

Hydrangeas just scream summer to me, and we love the dried blooms during the off-season months. Your color is absolutely creamy!
