Orchard House Shadow

Orchard House Shadow
11" x 14"  Oil
$245.00 + $10. s/h

I loved the shadow on the side of the Orchard House at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site.  I went back two mornings to get the same light and shadow.  Rock Ledge Ranch is next to the Garden Of The Gods and is a living ranch with animals, gardens, historic buildings from several periods.  I've been there many times and have painted their barn, sheep, flowers, pond, house.

I love the detail of this lovely building, so simple with so much information for the viewer to enjoy,

Thank you Celeste! Going back a second time really helped w. both the light and accuracy.

Sherry. Thanks so much. I think it was the shapes that drew me to this.

Thanks Anne. We always hear "simplify".

I've been to the Garden of the Gods but didn't know about this place. I will have to check it out some time. You did a great job on the architecture of this building.

Carol, thank you. I've loved painting these buildings.

Thank you Douglas. The Rock Ledge Ranch is right next to the GofG. GHope those early ranchers loved their view.

Kim, Thanks so much. the shadow was what drew me in. so the rest of the buildig wasn't necessary.
