This is the third painting done on the recent PAAC, Plein Air Atists of Colorado, marathon paint out.  This was painted at Rock Ledge Ranch from about 7 am to 9 am.  We had an itinerary that we followed, kind of loosely, to five different locations. I've painted many times at Rock Ledge Ranch.  It's a historic ranch...."The mission of the Living History Association is to preserve, protect, restore and maintain the natural and historic integrity of Rock Ledge Ranch, which is set within an open par,k while providing opportunities for sale, educational and experimental programs that represent and interpret the social agricultural and economic development of the Pikes Peak Region from 1775 through 1920."

It's a great historic place to visit, hike, learn, paint right here in Colorado Springs.

Hi Pam,
I enjoyed seeing your "Morning Path" painting. It seems that when paintings include a path, road, or trail of some sort, especially disapearing off into the distance, a good composition has automatically been created and leaves the viewer a little more curious about the scene. It's a lovely little painting. I have done, perhaps three outdoor paintings in my whole life, and that was about 20 years ago, so this summer I plan to get started up again.....and NOT care if people look over my shoulder. Remember me asking you about Kim English? His workshop could have taken me, but the inn was all filled. The two nearest hotels were 30 minutes away so I decided to go another time. I ordered his self published book off of his website......oh, his paintings are deliciously gorgeous......his use of back-light.Have a good summer Pam.....world traveler that you are. Pattie, Thank you so much. I love your comments over the years. And, so appreciate your following. I, too, love painting paths. I feel the same...I wonder where they lead. I hope that you get out and paint this summer. Yes, his back lighting creates a great feeling in his paintings!!
