A Nice Merlot

A Nice Merlot
6" x 6" Oil
SOLD

In painting this series of four I used both white and red wines.  It not only made it more fun for me, I thought that that would give the client more color choices.  After meeting with her I thought that I should have asked if they preferred white or red wine.  In retrospect, I'm glad that I didn't as I might have only painted that color.

Today I participated in the Art Fair at Summerland Gardens.  It's such a beautiful location in which to paint and show work.  Friend, fellow blogger, and organizer of Daily Painters of Colorado, Kimberly Conrad, came down from Denver to participate.  She has started Club 47 on her blog as a way to lose 47 pounds.  All are welcome to join and do something 47 related.  I am going to attempt to finish my 100 Garden and Floral Oil Painting Series, I'm on # 67, in the next 47 days and donate $4.70 of each sold painting.  I may not get them all posted before the 47 days, but I'll get them painted.

Here I am with Kimberly.  Check out her blog here to find out about Club 47.

Wonderful! Love the cropping- rich colors. I think using both red and white wines does allow you some fun creative freedom- bet she likes all 4!!

Thank you so much Sylviane, That's another thing I like about using the small panels, it forces you to crop.

Nancy, Thank you! Don't think that she'll purchase all 4, but, I've got 3 extras ready to post, had fun painting them, and it made be think about more values, color, and light.

Thank you Sherry. I don't paint lots of glass and really enjoyed these.

Celeste, Thank you.

Thans so much Cathy. I could see many, many paintings of glasses when you change the cropping, the wine, the light.

Thanks Mary. I do well with deadlines and plans, ie: 47. Must be all of those years of teaching.

Nancy, Thank you. I'll post the next two, not quite as cropped.

Thanks so much Anne, I knew you'd like that blog!
