I always feel like each summer it takes me several poppy paintings to get the dark and light oranges looking like dark and light orange and not red orange and yellow orange. But with all the rain we've had this month, our poppies are taking a beating and it's been cloudy or rainy for weeks. Today I went outside and painted in the cloudy weather, which is frustrating. But soon there won't be any poppies left. I guess if rain is the worst of my problems, I shouldn't complain. We're just not used to this weather here in Colorado.

You are right--we *shouldn't* complain about weather.
(haha like that would happen)
this looks to be the right color to me!

Pam, beautiful color and beautiful painting. Reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe. We're have weird weather out here too, overcast, cool, and humid. I guess it's all over.

Great poppy painting, Pam!
Weather can affect us greatly sometimes...But, I'm overjoyed just to be allowed to witness it!

Celeste, Jala, Nancy, thanks...I really love painting "orange". It's a mixture of primaries as well as itself.

Dean, You're right. I too, am overjoyed just to be here!
