100 Garden & Floral Oil Paintings, Original Art Work from A Colorado Daily Painter, 27/100

Burgundy Rose
6" x 8" oil on panel
$100.00 + $10. s/h
SOLD
I'm painting what will become an invitation for a wedding shower.  The bride-to-be's colors are burgundy and dark blue, and a burgundy rose will be in her arrangements.  I think that in lightening this rose it ended up too red.  Also, there's not enough contrast with the dark blue.  I'm going to try another one.

Very nice, Pam! You are over a quarter of your way through your 100 and doing great! This is really going to be a nice series for you. And for us, too! Always good to visit and see what you are doing!!

Not sure if I clicked out before my last comment 'took', so I'm trying again. This bride has a fabulous idea for her invitations! I think this will be beautiful, Pam. I can't comment on the color because I know that what I post never looks as good as the actual piece itself. That said, on the thumbnails coming up below the post, there is a petunia or poppy that has what looks like a perfect red to match your description in this post! At any rate, this is one beautiful painting!
