Late In The Day

Late In The Day
11" x 14" Oil on wrapped canvas
$295.00 + $10. s/h

This is another piece from our trip to the area near Dolores, Colorado.  I loved how the light and shadows created strong shapes by the river.

I love how it makes me long for a blanket, a picnic basket, une bouteille du vin, and maybe even a pillow. Gorgeous, Pam!

This is so pretty. I love the gentle contrast between the light and shadow areas. Just subtle but so true to life and I can just imagine standing there!

Sherry, Thank you so much. A picnic would be great right now!

Thank you Denise, Sometime I push my colors and make my contrasts stronger, but this seemed right for the moment.

Carol, Thank you. A week in the mountains gave me so much material.

Thank you Debbi, The best 2 times are early and late and sometime I'm right there at the right moment!

Kelley, Thanks. I've been thinking the same thing!

Thank you Christiane!

Joy, thank you. I love your word...inviting!

Mary, Thank you. I did make a few small changes in the light to get it just where I wanted.

Merci Martine!

Beautiful oils! I have never worked with oils due to the drying time needed, maybe one day I will give it a try. Thanks for visiting my blog and your comment. :-)

Thank you Marie, You're right, there are so many great little spots to escape to!

Art2, Thanks. The drying time is one of the things that I like about oils. I can go back in easily and make changes.

Thank you Gwen, The rocks were a challenge, so many of them in one spot.

Shirley Thank you. Glad you like the palette.

Thank you Karen!

Claire, As always, thank yoo so much!

The shadow across the water is perfect. So, how was the fishing here?

The way you painted this makes me really sense the late afternoon sun, lovely.

Katherine, Thank you. The fishing was not good. After two days,...nothing!

Thank you Amy. It is true, those early and late hours of the day do provide the best light and shadow.
