Barn Color Study

6" x 8" oil on panel
$75.00 + $10. s/h
SOLD

This is another color study of the barns and sheds on the ranch with the aqua roofs. The sun created a glow on the side of the buildings and really accentuated the roof colors. Each of the ranch building roofs is a slightly different aqua hue, obviously due to the sheds all being built in different decades. But how wonderful that these ranchers loved color enough to think about the roof shingles.
We had a wonderful graduation weekend. Saturday was probably the only weekend day in 8 weekends that was beautiful and sunny. It made the day even more special. Thanks to all of you who sent congratulations. Now, back to painting, gardening, and being out of doors.

Beautiful Pam! I drove past a barn on Saturday, similarly lit but I couldn't get my camera out of my purse fast enough to photograph it...you captured it!

Thanks Liz and Dana, Sometimes when we're all out the light is saying to us "perfect painting!". Some of my paintings are plein-aire, and some are from photos. For the photos, sometimes I stop and walk around the scene/barn, etc. and sometimes I set the camera to "sports" and hope I get a good shot out the window.

This painting is quite strong in composition and good color. I think this is very successful! Really love the colors.

Thanks Yuri, Melinda, Karen, & Loriann, sometimes when we're out there the light is so great, and it's the light that creates the great color.

Pam, One more really nice painting! Your work would be terrific for the Tourism Board or Chamber of Commerce, or any organization designed to attract visitors to your state! Very inviting! Beautiful painting!
