I just can't resist these coreopsis! They're bright, happy looking, everywhere in our back yard, and fun to paint!
Several of you mentioned in comments and emails that you didn't know what coreopsis were, or that these coreopsis look different from those in your part of the country. So, I've included some photos of the coreopsis in our backyard this week:

Beautifully observed and painted!
So loose and lovely! Love the brushwork and color!
Beautiful! Love the touches or purple - they really pop out. Amazing the power of compliments. Enjoyed the photos of your beautiful gardens as well. Be glad it's not 104 degrees there and plants are still thriving.
Beautifully painted!!
Rolina, Thank you so much!
Thank you Violet. I find that the last in the series becomes the loosest!
Debbi. thank you! I thought that it would work well to tone the canvas in the complement! Glad you like it! It's in the mid 90's here. We're having to water more and turn on the AC. Not looking forward to the utility bill!
Thank you Linda!
All of these are great, but I think I like this one the best and it's the looseness and the bits of violet. Great!
Love those touches of pink and purple highlights, Pam!
Beautiful!!
Well, I was going to say how beautiful the painting was but I also love all the photos. What an inspiring backyard. Just a symphony of gorgeous color! Thanks for sharing. Happy for sure.
Beautiful painting and gorgeous photos of the flowers!
You have mastered flowers, just beautiful!
Thank you Katherine. I really like this one, too!
Sherry, thanks so much. I think that toning the canvas in the complement and letting little bit peek through works so ell for flowers.
Thank you Carrie.
Kathy, thank you! When the kids were small there wasn't lots of quiet time for painting, so, the backyard was my palette and creative outlet.
Thanks you so much Kimberly.
Thank you Douglas!
Très jolie interprétation... des jaunes lumineux...
gros bisous
Beautiful, love the colors and the brushwork. You are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing.
Pam, these just keep getting better and better! Gosh! I think this one takes the prize - I don't know, the light or the definition of the petals... you just nailed it!
Have been loving your flower portraits. And I must join the group to say this one may be my fav. Love the freshness of your brushstrokes.
Merci beaucoup Martine! J'aime les jaunes.
Joan, Thank you so much! My flowers inspire me!
Thank you so much Kelley! I think because it's the fourth that the brush strokes just came easily. And, the light was just right on the petals!
Shirley, Thank you so much! I think that this is my favorite, too!
Love your painting of this beautiful little flower. The purple peaking through the colorful slashes of yellow is real eye catching!
