100 Garden & Floral Oil Paintings, Original Artwork by Pam Holnback, 77/100

Day Lily
6" x 6"  Oil
$100.00 + $10. s/h

Day lilies are interesting in that they are almost a geometric flower, which seems an oxymoron.  I think of flowers as organic.

This one is very interesting - almost looks like a pastel. Love the soft edges. Colors and refreshing, too.

I found this flower is very hard to paint but you have painted it beautifully!

Love the oranges you created in these day-lily paintings.

Sherry, Thank you so much!

Thank you Debbi. I had to really push those edges as this is such a geometric flower that I wanted to be more organic.

Carol, Thank you! It is a challenging flower because of it's stiffness. Our minds say that flowers should be soft, but this one isn't really.

Thank you so much Linda!

Kathy, Thanks so much. These flowers are a lesson in perspective!

A great organic, loose, look to this day lily, Pam!
The geometric structure in nature is a fascinating to me. I believe Higher planning is involved.

Pam, the orange just glows! I love it. I have seen real day lilies that color, and you perfectly captured the look!
