We have a list of all the names of the different roses in our garden, I should use it for the painting titles. Some years the roses aren't as healthy as others. This is usually due to our high, dry climate. But, this summer the flowers everywhere in the Colorado are beautiful.

A yellow rose of Texas??? Love it.

Hi Pam, Another beauty! Your colors are so strong, just gorgeous!
the green parts of the petals are interesting!
The yellow really pops against the blueish background...I like the green shadows too!
Hi Pam. Thanks for your comment. I think you have a little of the Richard Schmid thing going on in your work. I like your flowers very much.
Beautiful rose.
Regards
You did a great job - painting yellow roses is a huge challenge! I never remember the names of my roses, except for "Double Bang" for some inexplicable reason!
Thanks all, This rose seemed to have yellow/orange and yellow/green shadows, both warm and cool. Probably a combination of the warm sun, and the reflective light of the green bush next to it.
Very nice rose painting. Great expressive brush work. You have some great things going on with your paintings. Nice blog.
