A Peaceful Spot

A Peaceful Spot
9" x 12" oil on canvas on board
$195.00 + $10. s/h

I was pleased with the value and color in this piece. This makes me look forward to spring and warm weather.

Friday, April 8th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM is the opening of a group show that I'm a part of at Summerland Gardens 124 East Cheyenne Road, Colorado Springs 80906.  If you're in the area, please stop by.

Nice, Pam, and it truly does look like a place you'd want to plunk down a picnic or rest with a good book!

It does look peaceful. Makes me feel like hiking down the path to see what is beyond the bend. :-)

This is great landscape painting. The path, colors and values just draw me in. It makes me want to get out and paint. I'm lovin' landscapes.

Wow! Ditto what Nancy said. In addition to the fabulous composition use of color and values, I have to say your use of temperature is outstanding. The warm hues in the foreground and the cooler aquas in the trees in far horizon add so much interest! Love it!!!

Kelley, thank you! It does look cozy.

Thank you Hilda. So glad you stopped by.

Crystal, Thanks. I love pieces w/ winding paths, curving roads, motion going somewhere.

Thank you Nancy. I love landscapes. And it seems that you can create a great landscape almost everywhere you look and/or visit.

Debbi, Thank you. I will admit that the temperature change was artistic license. There were only three straight, separated trees in the group on the left, so I thickened them up, cooled them, and added a few more. There were no trees on the right. I created that whole group after the piece was finished and didn't quite read right.

Pam,
Wonderful all different colors of green and they all are correct values and just like nature would have them. That is hard to do. I like where the path is highlighted helping invite you into the painting. Beautifully peaceful. I need to go there:)
