Often the gray and green values were a bit dark. It makes for great contrast with light sky or water.
Most of the photos I've been sharing have been from our time out on the Inside Passage. We spent more than a week in Sitka. The following photos are trees and totems from the Sitka National Historic Park.
With only 17 inches of moisture each year, we don't have trees like these in Colorado!

Love that muted light you've captured in your painting; it always makes the greens to gorgeous when we have it (that light) here. Well, the greens and the buttery yellows in the fields. Beautiful photos, Pam!
Une belle autre peinture accompagnée de jolies photos d'un très agréable séjour...
Il est vrai que les couleurs employées ne sont pas simples à utiliser mais sont merveilleuses entre elles.
Bisous
Love this and the photos are awesome! :-)
Love all the grays in this! So wonderful to see your Alaska photos and paintings and great to catch up with your blog!
Beautiful! The silver-green light on the water screams ALASKA and you've captured the green-ness of the landscape with this painting. Well done. I enjoyed the totems and the walk through the trees in Sitka, too. Brings back very nice memories, thanks!
Sherry, thank you so much. A great thing about this series is all the light and value changes w/in the gray and green palette. So many, many tints and shades!
Merci Martine. Les jolies photos sont pour tois...pour tu!
Thank so much Crystal!
Lorraine, Thanks for the visit. The silvers and grays in the sky and water were ever changing and gorgeous!
Katherine, Thank you! Three days before our walk in that park there was a brown bear sighting. Sure made for some excitement!
I agree, the dark grays and greens look great against the sky! and thank you, once again, for sharing your photos from your trip. I always enjoy them!
