I made the few changes that I talked about in the last post...darks here and there, adjusted some lights, painted the cupola. I'm happy with the way the painting turned out. One odd thing, the photo here on blogger came out a bit bluer than the photo in Iphoto. Not sure why. I've removed and reloaded this and for some reason, it's a bit too blue. I don't like having a photo here that's not accurate. Not sure why this is happening. Frustrating. Please imagine that the blues in the roof and the silo are a bit grayer, not quite so bright blue. Otherwise, I like this! Now, on to some painting from life.

Well done Pam, I love all the shadow areas, cool then warm. I know what you mean when the colors don't match up, but I am imagining a grayer roof! I enjoyed following along while you painted.
Thank you Anne. And, I have loved your abstracts!
A lovely barn!
So lovely. Enjoying all the value contrasts. Sweet subject.
Beautiful! The shadows are so wild and pretty!
Love the changes. This is really a stunner with the dramatic angle you chose.
Regarding the more saturated blue. It started happening to me about a month ago and I went to the forums to find out why. Lots of comments about it. Most suggested it was connected to Google + wanting brighter colors so now I desaturate in my Picasa first.
Marie, thank you so much!
Thank you Debbi. I was lucky with this one! The values were right there! It was just a matter of painting them in.
Cindy, Thanks so much. The off painting trees created such great shadows!
Julie, Thank you. I'll have to try de-saturating on IPhoto. Or maybe start using Picasa.
This barn is fantastic....a definite favorite, Pam...I love barns and enjoy seeing paintings of them..I know how frusterating it is when you can't get a good picture so I see the grayer roof! Love it!
